Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) has made it to the list of top ten B-schools in Financial Times rankings–Master of Management–2012. The institute is the only Indian B-school in the list.
The institute had secured 7th rank in 2011 and 8th in 2010 slipping three positions to the 10th rank in 2012. The IIMA is ranked at 8th position in 2012 ranking, with the three years’ average ranking .
FT report ranks the top 70 programmes in general management that do not require students to have prior work experience for admission to the masters programme (pre-experience Masters Degrees). IIMA ranked on the basis of its flagship course- Post Graduate Programme in Management also known as PGP.
The top 5 institutes are :
- University of St Gallen from Switzerland – Master in Arts Strategy and International Management.
- ESPC Europe .
- CEMS for its Master in International Management programme .
- HEC Paris in France- HEC master of science in management
- Essec Business School in France – Master of Science in Management programme.
Samir Barua, director IIMA said, “We are indeed pleased that despite a significantly increased batch size, the PGP has yet again ranked in the top ten among comparable programmes in management globally.”
FT rankings were based on salary in US dollars, value for money rank, career rank, aims achieved and placement success rate. IIMA ranked first as far as Placement Success Rank is concerned and got 5th position in career rank.
